Today, March 19, representatives of the delegation of Uzbekistan, led by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Z. Nizamkhodjaev, are in Astana to monitor the process of the extraordinary elections to the lower house of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, the Majlis, and the deputies of local councils, the Maslikhat.

 

Today, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, Z. Nizamkhodjaev, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Abdirov.

 

During the meeting, Nurlan Abdirov spoke about the preparatory work for the parliamentary and local council elections, which, following the constitutional reforms of 2022, were held based on a proportional electoral system, as well as the specifics of the elections.

 

It was noted during the meeting that 793 observers from 12 international organizations and 41 countries had arrived in the country to observe the elections.

 

The meeting also included an exchange of views on continuing effective cooperation between the electoral bodies of the two countries.
